SUMMARY:
The Business Intelligence (“BI”) & Data Warehouse (“DW”) Architect is responsible for providing architectural guidance and roadmaps for DW/BI products and solutions. The incumbent is responsible for creating architectural blueprints for enterprise data warehouse and BI and providing guidance to BI teams on architectural concepts and standards. The incumbent is responsible for leading the design of the technical solution, including key considerations such as business relevance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, performance, security and impact to existing and dependent systems. The incumbent is responsible for DW and BI software solution design, development and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Create architectural blueprints for enterprise data warehouse and BI
  • Align DW/BI architecture to enterprise architecture initiatives
  • Provide guidance and direction to DW/BI team regarding architectural direction and initiatives
  • Effectively apply enterprise architecture standards when delivering enterprise BI solutions
  • Provide subject matter expertise across technology/functions and drive implementation of technology strategy and roadmap direction.
  • Lead improvement initiatives which address opportunities and upcoming challenges
  • Provide direction and assessment of new technologies and their potential benefit in relation to BI solutions
  • Advocate use of project frameworks, re-usable components, methodology and procedures in the proposed solution and solution delivery process
  • Provide consistent data and business models across multiple BI projects and solutions
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technology and software trends as well as infrastructure tool sets across technology or functional domains
  • Serve as key contributor in requirement gathering for complex projects
  • Conduct ongoing performance monitoring and tuning of BI applications
  • Review solutions designed by other team members
  • Participate in data warehouse and BI software design, development, documentation and testing based on user requirement specification
  • Mentor and coach team members

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field required

  • Experience with use of relational data, OLAP data is required
  • Experience with Oracle OBIEE, ETL tools and IBM Cognos tools is preferred

SUMMARY:
The Business Analyst for Global Business Intelligence (BI BA) provides broad functional and technical expertise within multiple business areas in the review, analysis, development and implementation of business processes and applications with minimal supervision.  The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing and modifying reporting systems, specifically focusing on OBIEE, Cognos, TM1, and other tools that may be utilized in the future. The incumbent will work closely with business leaders worldwide to understand critical information needs and translate them into reporting solutions.  The BI BA provides guidance to business team members on the availability of data, the capability of systems to deliver information needs, and provides subject matter expertise regarding current systems.
 The BI BA is responsible for the gathering and analysis of business information needs, the preparation of system requirement documentation, testing, and transition to end users.   The incumbent may perform specified project management related activities as well.  The ideal candidate will have a solid background in business intelligence needs throughout business areas, data warehousing, ETL and modeling, reporting and dashboard development, strategic data analysis, and generating actionable business insights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Focuses on reporting needs for assigned area(s) within the organization
  • Consultant to Business Analysts in troubleshooting complex user and reporting application or data validation problems
  • Provide functional and technical expertise within multiple business areas, and provide strategic, forward-looking vision when configuring or customizing solutions to maintain flexibility and future integration opportunities
  • Provide consulting support on cross-functional reporting processes, reporting system issues, and the review, acquisition and implementation of new products
  • Collect, document and analyze business requirements and functional specifications for complex cross-functional projects to provide the best reporting solutions for business needs
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, conflicting business practices and integration issues, suggesting alternative solutions to cross-functional problems
  • Develop business relationships and integrate project activities with project team members, primarily Quality Assurance and Software Developers, to ensure successful implementation and support of projects
  • Track all project work through the enterprise project administrative tools, such as Oracle timesheets, Project Server, ALM, ticketing system, etc.and keep the project manager informed of any issues
  • Create or assist with the creation and execution of test scripts to ensure that reporting issues are minimal after implementation of new enhancements, changes or upgrades

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Solid knowledge of information technologies and methodologies, particularly with implementations of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Cognos or TM1, leveraging several disparate data sources, including Oracle eBusiness Suite and custom applications
  • Two  or more  years of recent BI experience with Cognos Business Intelligence products
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of application systems providing source data as well as BI front end tools
  • Understanding of the business and key performance indicators (KPIs), and their direct relationship/translation into business intelligence needs
  • Proficient in project management techniques and experience on cross functional projects

The Business Intelligence (“BI”) Designer provides expertise in BI software development tools and modeling techniques. The incumbent understands physical data models and creates BI logical and presentation models to meet business reporting and analytics requirements. The incumbent must proficient in relational and dimensional modeling techniques in order to create optimal BI models that are easy to present in dashboards and reports. The incumbent is expected to be an expert in BI modeling tools such as Cognos Framework Manager and/or Oracle OBIEE repository design. The incumbent is responsible for BI software design, development, testing and documentation.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Design, development, document and test BI software based on user requirement specification
  • Design and develop BI models (star schemas, cubes, subject areas) using tools such as Cognos Framework Manager and OBIEE RPD (repository) designer
  • Work closely with data modelers, reports and analytics developers and bridges the gap between the two disciplines
  • Structure data for optimal presentation, access, performance, and integration
  • Implement and maintain object level and data level security

SUMMARY:
The ETL Developer provides expertise in data mapping from transactional application to data warehouse and creation of Extract, Transform and Load (“ETL”) software programs.  The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and documenting ETL programs.
