Job description:
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Cloud technology strategies and solutions that enable computers residing on the same or different systems to access and utilize enterprise data.
  • Evangelize and execute solutions to complex business problems for area(s) of responsibility where analysis of situations requires an in depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Participate in setting strategic technology directions to establish near term goals for area of responsibility.
  • Interact with senior management levels at a client and/or within our organization, which involves negotiating or influencing on significant matters.
  • Responsible for architecting, designing, and leading project implementations for the infrastructure engineering organization. The position demands direct interaction with cross-functional teams and internal customers. Thearchitect provides technical guidance and training to the technology teams as well as ensuring that the implementations follow the finest practice in configuration principles. The role of architect is responsible for leading the technical design, support and delivery of all cloud solutions.
  • Engagement with internal customers to define technology solutions for integration with existing environment and document requirement
  • Technical Lead on solution deployment projects and including hands on configuration of complex component
  • Providing expert level of support to our teams for technology transformation and refresh initiatives
  • Partners with suppliers, architects, engineers, developers, and internal customers to provide expert guidance to project stakeholders on upcoming and innovative technologies
  • Provides specific technical expertise to solve complex problems on project specific activities.
  • Ensure architecture related processes and standards are followed and adhered
  • Creating architectural and technology roadmaps that result in stronger alignment with requirements
  • Defines the responsibilities of parties involved in the project including customers, management, project team, vendors and others affected by the project.
  • Identifies system design alternatives, researches existing systems in the marketplace and recommends viable solutions
Core Competencies & Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands on experience with server and operating system technologies (IBM, HP, Cisco UCS), including architecture and design.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix Xen, Hyper-V, LPARs, VPARs, Logical Domains, Zones, and/or Containers).
  • Bachelor's Degree or 10-15 years extensive IT engineering experience in multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies including vSphere, vCenter management suite, Site Recovery Manager,      
  • vCloud Suite, and Horizon Suite
  • IAAS Service Providers: Amazon, Google Web Services, Terremark, Softlayer
  • Open source cloud and service automation tools; Openstack, Chef, Puppet.
  • Experience with x86 server and converged infrastructure technologies including IBM, Dell, HP and Cisco UCS
  • Experience with storage platforms including NetApp and EMC,
  • Demonstrated ability to be a thought-leader in a team environment
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of Cloud including Infrastructure as a Service, public and private cloudsolutions.
  • Hands on experience with vCloud Director / Open Stack, including understanding of the various components and architectures, key integration points, and familiarity the various open source standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with Software Defined Data Centers tools and technologies.
  • Hands on experience with the VMware suit of virtualization tools, including vCloud Director and vCloud orchestrator.
  • Deep understanding, hands on experience and certification with hypervisor technologies
  • Experience with cloud based infrastructure architecture and design, including orchestration and automation.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with converged infrastructure. (Automation, Orchestration, and SDN)
  • Data Center/Server Operational Components (Monitoring, Management, etc.).
  • Designing and implementing Cloud solutions.
  • Experience with Citrix virtualization technologies including XenApp, XenDesktop, XenMobile and NetScaler  
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of Cloud including Infrastructure as a Service, public and private cloudsolutions and integration.
  • Hands on experience with the Microsoft’s Systems Center virtualization tools, including SCCM and SCVM.Solid understanding of enterprise server technologies including ESX, Windows 2008 OS, Apache, WebLogic, Java J2EE, SQL, Oracle, MS messaging, Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), etc.
  • Attention to detail, results driven with focus on high quality and excellent customer service as well as the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to keep calm during a period of crisis and to provide the leadership and direction required to resolve the issue.  Can perform independently with minimal supervision and make decisions in ambiguity.
