PM / BA (IB Tax Domain) - NYC, NY

Main Duties:
  • As an active member of the IRS Operational Taxes project team - communicate and drive the delivery/benefit of the IB Tax Program
  • As a member of the IRS Operational Taxes Project team, play a strong role in working closely with the Operational Taxes project manager and the other key members of the IRS Operational Taxes Project team to deliver the planned and targeted outcomes of both the assigned Workstream(s) and other Workstream(s) under the project 
  • Initiate, incubate and mobilize the assigned workstream(s)
  • Lead key Workstream meetings and working groups to understand workflows, processes, procedures, business needs, storyboards and create the required user stories
  • Build a common understanding across a diverse stakeholder group of how the workstream can be delivered within an Agile framework
  • Work closely with the IRS Operational Taxes project manager to define, establish and operate a management and control framework that is fit for purpose. Clearly articulate the strategy for change – whether the solution be aligned to a platform or a people process.  Translate the strategy into a holistic delivery plan and drive the execution to completion.
  • Build strong working relationships with technology partners to implement Operational Tax strategy
  • Create communication and reporting materials for multiple levels of stakeholders
  • Actively manage day-to-day activities and ensure delivery accountability is in place across the whole Program and stakeholder community
  • Establish and maintain detailed workstream level plans covering all deliverables (process, people, IT, control), ensuring all dependencies are in place and being tracked
  • Actively assess and manage risk; remove / reduce barriers towards realising goals, ensuring mitigating actions are in place & managed
  • Work closely with the IRS Operational Tax Project Manager to manage Senior Stakeholder engagement and expectations (typically MD & Dir level business heads)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date status reporting practices, providing visibility on status against milestones, with transparency of risks, issues and dependencies
  • Manage conflict resolution in a rapidly-changing, high-pressure environment
  • Manage direct reports and third party resources
  • Act as the ‘honest broker’ in resolving conflict, navigating barriers and political sensitivities
Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications /Education 
  • Essential
  • Proven track record of successful delivery within an Agile environment
  • Strong and detailed understanding of front-to-back processes in an Investment Bank
  • Strong Business Analysis background and delivery track record
  • Experience working in a project management capacity
  • Knowledge of Derivative Products 
Preferred:
  • Bachelors in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or Liberal Arts degree (or equivalent)
Experience Required:
  • Essential
  • 5+ years’ experience on large scale change initiatives
  • Demonstrate experience of leading and delivering large scale, business change projects and/or broad experience in delivering corporate/Infrastructure change projects. e.g. roll-out of new products/markets, large scale industry regulatory initiatives
  • IB expertise in at least one functional area
  • Experience with defining operating models (People, Process, Technology)
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels
  • Attention to detail and strong delivery focus
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, and Technology stakeholders
  • Collaborative style with ability to quickly build trust/credibility
  • Excellent Requirement Gathering, Data Analysis and Analytical Skills
  • Excels at conflict management & managing delivery in a matrix reporting structure
  • Cross border / multi geography project delivery experience
Preferred:
  • Management of third party resources 
  • Regulatory Project delivery, preferably global/regional tax regulation with knowledge of 871(m), Chapters 3, 61, and FATCA
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Investment banking experience
  • Knowledge of derivative instruments 
  • Business analysis delivery and management; Process and Control framework design, delivery and operation
  • Understanding of risk management practices, regulatory change projects, and ideally global tax regulatory requirements
