Responsibilities:
- Work directly with business partners in designing and developing JEE web applications. Participation includes providing UXD feedback, functional/technical analysis, architecture, coding and testing.
- Act as a technical representative of the product-facing team, implementing features under minimal supervision.
- Provide input into agile story definition and dependencies. Provide feature-level and story-level estimates as well as detailed task estimates.
- Help coordinate the delivery of technical components across internal/external technical teams.
- Contribute to or write concise and clear technical specifications based on analysis of complex business requirements
- Provide technical leadership to more junior team members of the team
- Adhere to project timelines, address and resolve technical issues
- Contribute to process-improvement initiatives in an effort to maximize velocity for the product team
- 3+ years of JEE development experience
- 5+ years of OO development experience
- Strong verbal and written communications, must be able to actively engage other team members
- Hands-on experience working within an agile (scrum, XP or similar) development environment
- Experience implementing functionality using the following technologies/concepts:
- JSP/CSS/HTML/JavaScript
- JQuery, Dojo or equivalent rich internet technology
- Backbone.js
- Spring
- XML/JSON
- Service Oriented Architecture
- Relational databases (Oracle, DB2)
- Unix
- Strong grasp of object oriented design patterns, including those introduced by the Gang of Four and Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture sources
- Ability to multi-task, manage time and priorities, and meet scheduled deadlines
- Experience with Git and Rational Team Concert preferred
- Knowledge of Financial Planning applications preferred
