Summary:
  • Responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of underlying BI data and proper business uses in order to translate end user report requirements in to reporting solutions. Works collaboratively with BI team. Report developer to determine additional data points that may be necessary in order to deliver the proper BI solution. Assists in supporting end users in the use of business intelligence tools made available.
Education And Experience:
  • Technical degree in computer science or related area, minimum 3 years SQL related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 years of demonstrated experience with SQL query writing and SSRS report development in a production environment. In depth knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Excel is a must. Must possess excellent written and oral communication, organization skills and analytical skills. Proficiency with SQL and SQL related databases with expertise in relational database concepts, including primary keys, foreign keys, and joins. Expert in constructing complex queries using SQL and strong understanding of database architecture and design (physical and logical). Expertise with relational database query (Microsoft SQL Server 2012) skills and large databases.Expertise with reporting tools (SQL Server Reporting Services, Business Objects, SSRS on SharePoint 2013) and ETL tools (SQL Server Integration Services). Nice to have knowledge of Salesforce/ Veeva CRM.
Duties And Responsibilities:
  • The Report Developer collaborates with BI team, software developers and end users to develop reports and dashboards based on requirements.
  • The position has primary responsibility to write individual reports and create dashboards as well as work with the BI team, validate the data, develop visualization solutions for a meaningful end user experience.
  • The report developer must possess in-depth technical knowledge needed to utilize data with a deep understanding of system build, workflow and patterns of use to design, write, validate and modify reports that meet the needs of the report consumers in their respective functional area(s).
  • Gather and document functional and technical data requirements and translate requirements into actionable data for reporting solutions.
  • Identify new data points needed for BI reporting and implement methods of supplying the same.
  • Reviews queries, views and stored procedures for performance issues and standardization.
  • Assists in maintaining data integrity – including consistent naming conventions used in all databases.
  • Documentation of all databases, processes and sustained reports utilized by the BI team.
  • Assist in support of super users in the use of BI tools to query databases.
  • Creates ad hoc analysis reports as needed by operating departments.
  • Assists in building ETL solutions to gather data from various data sources needed for reports and dashboards.
