War Game Operations Project Manager - Philadelphia, PA

Job Details:
  • This Operations PM position will be responsible for War Game management and readiness activities across the organization. Duties will include driving business and technically focused War Game activities for cross-platform, entertainment focused products and services in a cohesive, smart and effective manner.
  • Reporting to the Operations Sr. Manager and serving as a member of the XOPs team, this position contributes to the development and implementation of War Game strategies and best practices. This position will also interact with the Engineering, Quality Assurance and Technical Operations departments of T&P. 
Responsibilities:
  • Support of War Game Operations planning, execution, reporting and improvement.
  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of War Game coordination and communication.
  • Play a significant role in documentation, executive summarization and observation/action item detailing.
  • Creation and organization of operational documents.
  • Regular meetings with functional teams around operational planning.
  • Responsibilities by Function
1. War Game Planning:
  • Integrate into technical team meetings and planning sessions to gauge War Game readiness (e.g., scope, target timing, Runbook creation & technical approach, support).
  • Work with the support and monitoring teams to understand current monitoring coverage (e.g., systems, alerts, dashboards), parity with scheduled War Games, diagrams and gaps that required closure pre-testing.
2. War Game Execution:
  • Bolster business operations’ presence during War Game sessions through a consistent cadence of execution steps (based off of the runbook) and clarifying questions.
  • Capture detailed documentation of the team’s activities and results (time stamped findings, behavioral screenshots, gaps) during War Game execution.
3. War Game Reporting:
  • Develop artifacts such as updated technical runbooks (for repeatable tests), War Game reports and observational action item focused trackers.
  • Create professional, technical executive summaries based off of diagrams, captured details, findings, action items and gaps recorded during War Game execution.
4. War Game Improvement:
  • Own action item, gap and observation reporting lifecycles -- syncing with action items owners to pull updated feedback into future War Game planning sessions for improved approaches in the future.
  • Facilitate a consistent implementation of War Game planning, readiness, execution and post mortem activities across multiple platforms.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical project management role
  • Strong background and work experience in Operations or Business Development for technology companies
  • Healthy understanding of Client/Server web, mobile and appliance (e.g., set top box) interoperability in a production enterprise environment.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in standard Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Persuasive with details and facts
